Magnolia beefs up roster - adds Bono, Cortez

Here's the link to the article by Nelson Beltran in Philippine Star.

So, let's analyze the trade:

Alaska gets:

LA Tenorio
Larry Fonacier

Magnolia gets:

Ken Bono
Mike Cortez

Alaska getting younger in the wings with Tenorio & Fonacier but may have given up too much in the process. Ken Bono has untapped & unlimited potential to be the next big thing if only he can watch his weight and Mike Cortez, just 27 years old, is one cool cat in the court but sometimes the injury bug bites him a lot.

Magnolia, on the other hand, has the luxury of dealing those two Ateneo stalwarts because they are just simply loaded. With Cortez and Bono in the mix, they became more balanced and deep to make a run for the championship.

If only we can see Bono play in the big league, which the Aces has forgot to address since he's always on the bench in their rotation, then we'll know who gets the better end of the deal.
